The ICE Krakow Congress Centre cooperating with the Municipal Greenery Board decided to launch a project that will have a permanent impact on participants in important events and residents of the city.
The Congress Alley
Information
The Congress Alley commemorates key congresses and conferences held in the ICE Kraków Congress Centre. To honour the said events, their organisers, representatives of the City of Kraków and the facility plant symbolic trees along the Monte Cassino Street. To highlight their care for the environment, they plant trees with the longest growing season and those that best absorb dust from the air. On average, several new plants are planted each year.
Each tree commemorates an important event organised by the city in the ICE Kraków Congress Centre; the first tree was planted after the 41st session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in July 2017.
Next to each tree is a plaque indicating the congress during which the tree was planted.
Representatives of the meetings industry attach increasing importance to ecology and sustainable development in the context of congress and conference organisation. The topic has been continuously covered by the media for a few years. Event organisers very often ask about initiatives related to sustainable development at the stage of venue selection.
The Congress Alley is one of the tools that help create the image of Kraków as a location with a responsible approach to environmental conservation. Participation in the project entails an improvement of the event organiser’s image.

The project also allows the residents of Kraków to become more familiar with the events taking place in the facility. The Alley is a symbol of the positive influence of congresses on the city and on the local community; it also leaves a permanent, tangible trace in the form of a green alley.
